SENIOR CONTROLLER

Lifelong learner, mom and athlete.

I grew up in Northern Alberta as a child of an Australian Lawyer and a British school teacher, how I ended up growing up in Grande Prairie is a long story, feel free to ask! I am thankful for small city roots but now call Edmonton home with my two kids and husband. We spend as much of our weekends outdoors as possible, or at least when the weather cooperates. My husband and I enjoy, and are actively converting our kids to, downhill and Nordic skiing, Mountain and Road biking, swimming and hiking. This means a very busy house, red cheeked kids, and as many trips to the mountains as we can squeeze in.

My accounting background has taken me through multiple areas which have all left their mark on how I approach my work with clients. Over the years I have been in public practice, the auto industry, government auditing and retail controllership. The breadth of my experience has allowed me to be very empathetic as to why another party is asking for information in a different way than may be expected. I also dip into that background to help owners in their relationships with their year end accountants. I like working with companies to help them more efficiently move, file and prioritize information within their businesses starting with their existing infrastructure and processes. I believe making things smoother does not have to be complicated and removing duplication of work can create value within an organization.

I have accompanied companies through rapid growth, restricted cash flows, and tight reporting deadlines and I excel in coming to the logical approach that makes sense for both Accounting and Operations. I love my job because I am constantly learning about new industries and how things work.
